It is always important to stay ahead of the competition and in this fast-paced, constantly evolving manufacturing landscape, staying ahead of the competition is evermore important.

So how can you stay one step ahead? Well, you can stay ahead of your competition by regularly checking news sources related to your specific industry, which is cheaper and more convenient than it has ever been. Twenty years ago you had to subscribe to a weekly or monthly publication which was mailed to your home or office, and spend the majority of your day going through the publication to find out news and views.

Today, that has all changed. You join an email list and your chosen publication will email you regular news and views updates straight to your computer, your tablet or your phone. Staying one step ahed is easier today, but there are a lot of great, good and not so good online industry publications so how do you decide on which to subscribe to?

You don't need worry about that, I have chosen my top ten manufacturing news websites which can help provide you relevant up-to-date information straight into your inbox.

There is no affiliation, on my part, with any of these publications. I have chosen them purely on merit and I do subscribe to each and have found them invaluable in my working life in creating content for my clients. They are in no particular order, just as they appeared in my inbox today.

Straight from their "About Us" page, they describe themselves as "the premier industry publication providing manufacturing news, articles, events and insights while promoting best practice in the manufacturing industry.

"Covering all manufacturing sectors The Manufacturer, is an essential resource for every manufacturing boardroom and for senior management, delivering thought leadership articles, regulatory updates and best practice case studies on a monthly basis".

Based in the UK, they offer a comprehensive overview of all things manufacturing on a local, national and international level.

Since launching 16 years ago, "Aerospace Manufacturing has grown to become a successful technical magazine, gaining the respect of its readership in the process. We pride ourselves on generating exclusive technical content that is authoritative and easy to read without being too highbrow".

Targeting a European audience of all levels of management within the aerospace industry, Aerospace Manufacturing has a global reach.

Manufacturing Tomorrow is a digital trade magazine. The publication features products, companies, news, articles and events from the advanced manufacturing, factory automation and 3D printing industries.

Manufacturing Tomorrow places its emphasis on state-of-the-art/on the horizon technologies that have strong prospects of commercialisation. The publication’s philosophy is: “to create an outlet where the industry can share information and report on itself.”

Additive Manufacturing, according to their website is "the media brand devoted to industrial applications of 3D printing technology". Their editors travel the world discovering how manufacturers are using this technology to make tooling, molds, functional prototypes and end-use production parts in a range of industry sectors.

The website covers everything from 3D printing news and product releases to expert interviews and in-depth application stories centered around real AM users.
